How do you deal with being VERY hurt after a break-up and your ex basically just totally cuts contact off?

Hi all! I had a break-up back after 5 months of dating in January, 2010. Her and I had A LOT in common. I'm over my ex-girlfriend but I still would like to see her every now and then as friends. He rand I are both adults with us both around 30 years old. She changed her cell number on me and dropped me on facebook, which hurt me a lot because it felt like she shut the door in my face. I basically broke up with her, tried to get her back a few weeks later on after that, but it didn't work. Her and I didn't have any big problems compared to most couples. At the time, I think her and I just gradually lost interest in each other. I think about her a lot because I still love her and I care about her. I just feel how ';the ending went down'; with mostly silent treatment was very sad. I would like to keep up with her but I also don't want her to feel that I'm harassing her in any way because I don't want to. I could visit her at work or at her house but I think I should wait a while until I get my life together first. Have you ever been in a situation like this? It just feels awkward. For a few months, you're in love, holding hands, making lots of love, and then one day it's all gone. It really sucks. I just feel like she's been treating me in a cold, mean way and I don't deserve it because her and I really had a special relationship at the time. How do you deal with being VERY hurt after a break-up and your ex basically just totally cuts contact off? Please help me with advice. Any answers would be appreciated. Buddhist meditation works wonders... but you'll never do it.How do you deal with being VERY hurt after a break-up and your ex basically just totally cuts contact off?
Well, probably as you can see, she doesn't want to do anything with you and just forget about that and move on with your life.
I was in a similar situation without the courtesy of a breakup.... She just quit answering her cell. As his was unlike her I got the message and we never spoke again. This was not to say I was ok with the situation. I was in shock and noone had any sympathy for me. They just said get over it, easier said than done.

Anyway you get over it by talking to whoever will listen, and moving on . This means stop trying to get close to her and find a new girl, any girl.
Well some things similar has happen in my life too. They only way I got over it was by going about my normal day with. Try doing new things to get your mind off of her. I think I read about 100 books to keep my mind off of him, but hey it really worked. My advise to you it is just get out and move on I know its hard in time it will all heal. Just hang in there.
Hey, well, from experience, if you are the one the broke up with her then she is probably kinda angry at you. And she probably doesn't want to talk to you right now.

But if you both lost interest in each other then maybe she just feels hurt also that its over. It could be for the better and you live and you learn. Yes, the break up could have gone better. Yes, maybe both you could have done it differently and you might still be together. But think about it, the way you two connected was in your own way and there shouldn't be a big desire to have done it differently.

It hurts right now and there isn't too much you can do about it. From my experience, it hurts and it takes a while to get over it. But once you do, you move on and you learn lessons from your past experiences. Otherwise, you would never learn anything at all.

So just chill right now and don't rush into a relationship until your over her so you can give your new love everything you have. Then it will work better because now you know what to do and what not to do. Which works for everyone.
