for a visit or overnight, knowing that he is living with the other woman that he left you for and the other woman knew you were married with kids when she cheated with him.For divorced parents with kids...how do you deal/or have dealt with your kids going to your ex-husbands house?
Blow it off. That's what i did. The truth is he is their dad, and they love him, so stay out of their relationship or they will start to resent you. As for you, have a nice bath, or go out with your girlfriends, etc.
Obviously for me it was my ex-wife, but it was similar circumstances (my daughter lived with me).For divorced parents with kids...how do you deal/or have dealt with your kids going to your ex-husbands house?
It could be this woman, some new woman, or no woman at all but you can鈥檛 hold that against him for life. You have a child together, your primary focus should remain to be your child. Anger will get you nowhere it鈥檒l just make everything more difficult. You can鈥檛 stop him from seeing her, you can鈥檛 stop HER from seeing him. That鈥檚 her Daddy.
Focus on your daughter and only your daughter. Life will be much more peaceful for you if you take the high road.
Oooh hard one, i remember it when my children started going to my ex's overnight, i hated her with a passion, but the more anger you have the harder it becomes.
In the end for the sake of the children, i had to befriend her and get on with her, at the end of the day, she would be looking after my children every other weekend, and as i had girls, men dont always cut it, and sometimes need a womans gentle side.
I also looked at my behaviour towards her and reversed it, if i met a man i had fallen in love with and my ex started causing problems, how would i feel and react.
I made the decision to put my feelings aside for the sake of our children, be greatful he is a good dad and still has interest in there lives as a lot of men walk and dont look back, think how hard your life would be to deal with that. I know how difficult it is, but maybe meeting up with her and trying to somehow clear the air, this is what i had to do, and now, i still hate her for what she done, but i do actually like her, and respect her for the way she treats my children.
This will be the hardest thing that you will ever do in your life, but you have to let it go. He does not care, the kids do not care and the court does not care. He may be a low life prick, but his is still the kids dad and anything that you do will eventually be used against you to damage your relationship with your kids.
we were not divorced, but we had one child together. after all was getting into a routine of her visiting which wasnt very often i just said i dont give a **** who you date, just make sure shes nice to my daughter. case closed. Now shes nicer to my daughter than her own dad. i stayed out of it completely. its easier when you dont want to be with that person and you left them like idid.
but with you i am not too sure. that would be very hard. but dont be bossy. let them go and dont try to get answers out of them. who is she, how did they act together, is she pretty, etc.
